THE ROOFTOP GARDEN AT

MIDDLE WAY HOUSE

As coordinator for four years, Andi led the design and maintenance of a rooftop garden that sits above a domestic violence shelter in Bloomington, IN. The garden evolved into a healing space that not only provides healthful food to the adults and youth living in the shelter, but also educates them and the broader community about sustainable urban agriculture practices, such as companion planting and vermiculture.

Andi and her team of volunteers held community events at the rooftop garden and coordinated events at the local Farmers' Market.
